“This year, Iranian state TV says we have 35 million viewers,” says producer Hamid Modaressi. “But I think the number is higher.”
Mr. Modaressi is talking about the wildly popular Kolah Ghermezi (in Persian, it means “The One Who Owns The Red Hat”) – Iran’s version of the Muppets and like a good Pixar movie, both children and adults get something out of it.
“If you are a kid, it gives you lessons. If you are an adult, it still teaches you something by making fun of it,” explains fan Maryam Manzoori.
