Writing Conflict, Law Enforcement & Legalities in the 21st Century
This dynamic MOST partnership event with the Writer’s Guild of America, East featured a panel moderated by NPR’s Steve Inskeep, with “Black Hawk Down: A Story of Modern War” author Mark Bowden, Emmy Award winning journalist Catharine Crier, Brookings Institute Senior Fellow Peter Singer, and CBS News consultant Jere Van Dyk. The lively and interactive discussion focused on the rise of drone warfare and the ramifications such tactics may impose on the future of warfare overseas and law enforcement and civil rights here at home. The panelists provided insight on potential legalities moving forward as technology continues to advance, and how to effectively write about these conflicts in the 21st century. See the event program for more details.
